Ikasia Miwato

Ikasia grew up in a small elven village, quite cut off from all other civilitation. Everybody knew off the villages existence, it was a legend, it had visitors every now and then, oftenly warriors, that swarmed the village like pilgrims. Ikasia´s father had died before her birth, of a sickness, one of the few that the high elves of Lamior, the villages name, could actually catch. The very same illness hit her mother, shortly after. A year after she gave birth to her daughter, she passed as well. Luckily for the young elf, she had her brother, Ajisai. Ajisai raised her, even though he was only eleven himself. And Ikasia adored him. He was her god.

Lamior was most famous for their Ilakar, their warriormasters. From childhood on, those warriors would be trained, until with two hundred years of experience, they would then have to withstand the hardest test, that had ever been created. Only then, could those little that survived the test, call themselves warriormasters.

Already when they were little, Ajisai and Ikasia would train to one day reach that. Their parents had always wished for their children to reach that honorable status. Already when they had heard of their birth, their father, a blacksmith of legendary reknown and skill, had given his all to create two blades. One red as blood, the other one black and green. With those masterpieces, he wished for his children to become just as masterful warriors. Ajisai knew of these swords. Claiming the red one for himself, he gave his sister the black-green blade, when she turned 11.

The next time was a lot of training. Two hundred years, every day, they trained. And even when Ajisai was ready to do the test, he waited, trained his sister, so that together, they could do the test. Their technique was unique and they had best chances. And so they applied. The test would be to hunt down a Krashtar, a gigantic, draconic creature. The applicants would be divided into groups of four, each, as they would venture out. Most died, little returned, even less actually suceeded.
Ajisai and Ikasia formed a group with two similarly aged elves. Miyoshi, a elven girl using a naginata as her weapon of choice, beautiful as the sunrise. She was a very bubbly individual who seemed to be amazed at everything. And Okuma, a bulky, tall guy, using a kanabo. Okuma was a man of few words. When he did speak it was usually to speak his mind and he speaks in a composed tone of voice. Ajisai was good friends with Okuma and Ikasia knew Miyoshi just as well. Promising each other sucess, they ventured out.

The year, in that Ikasia went out to hunt a Krashtar was a bad one for Lamior. Only four of the applicants returned. A group of four extremely skilled individuals. With great teamwork and sacrifice, the group of Ajisai, Miyoshi, Okuma and Ikasia returned alive. Not unharmed, but without any crippling injury, they offered the Krashtar´s head to the elders. The following generations were stunned at the low rate of return that year. Out of fear, way less people applied. And none returned. For a hundred years, only four Ilakar guarded the town of Lamior. But those four grew great friends, a family.

Years passed and war waged at the lands. The elders, however, did not decide to take a site. It was agreed on waiting it out. To let the other races and people fight their battles alone. A mistake, in the eyes of Ajisai. Passionately, he tried to convince the elders of how they had to get engaged. Would they be attacked, they would have no backup otherwise. The elders however denied. Who would attack the village, knowing they had the Ilakar.

The longer the war went, the more parties got involved. One of them were "The Masks", a gigantic group of mercenaries, assassins and fanatics under the lead of a power hungry bandit. Their white facemasks were what gave them their name. More and more people joined the masks. And when thez had the chance, they attacked. Wanting to have the title of the "masterslayer", the leader of the masks attacked with full forces. And the Ilakar stood ready to defend.

The village was evacuated the moment the first fiery catapult projectile hit. Only four people were left behind. A man, bulky, wearing a demonic mask and holding a large, spiked club. A woman, wearing a mask, long, black hair waving behind her, as her leather armor was covered by a white coat, flowing in the wind. She held a naginata with a silver blade. A man, his white, long hair bound to a ponytail behind his head, as his black, white clothes moved with the wind. His red blade relaxedly held besides his body. And a woman, her white hair short, as she stood there, the black and green sword resting on the shoulder of her white kimono. They were legends and like legends they looked. Behind them, the village was in flames, but their intention was to buy time. Time for the villagers to flee. Little did Ikasia know, that soon, she would be the last of her kind.

A battle broke lose, one of the biggest the war had seen. For hours, the warriormasters resisted the onslaught of masks. At some point, Ikasia saw Okuma fall, spears had penetrated his body over and over. She fought on. She heard a female scream, but had no time to look. She fought on. Then, she heard it. Her brothers voice, gasping. She looked, seeing the masks leader hold a dead body on a little hill. The red blade at his feed, he dropped the body and laughed. Then, Ikasia felt a club hit her head. She blacked out.

When she awoke, Ikasia saw only corpses. Nobody was there. They had left. Her blade next to her, she picked it up. Strolling through the ruins, stunned, not grasping what had happened, she found the corpse of Miyoshi. Her naginata laid broken besides her. Ikasia picked up the blade of it. Then, she found Okuma´s body. His club not visible under the pile of bodies, she looked at him for a moment. Lastly, she saw her brother. His red blade next to his dead body. She broke down, crying. For hours, she cried. Then, she stopped, arising, taking his blade and speaking, in the tongue of her village, that she now was the only one able to speak. "I am the last swordmaster. I shall live on forever, i shall kill, who dishonored my kin. For with me, the legend of all four lives on. And legends never die." Since then, Ikasia strolls the lands.
